A new FlockFinder app for smart phones helps locate genetics you want *** NEW ***

FlockFinder is an easy-to-use smartphone app that allows you to search for ram breeding flocks in New Zealand, based on your search criteria. You can search by breed, location, owner name, stud prefix, SIL flock number or by the traits recorded including DNA parentage. 

Once you’ve identified a breeder, the app allows you to phone or email them directly from your smart phone, or view their website. Once loaded, FlockFinder works offline. It does not require a continuous internet connection to perform further searches. The app can be downloaded at either the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Functions of the SIL website based eSearch tools, BreederFinder & FlockFinder, have been merged into a smartphone app, also called FlockFinder. For the web-based versions, BreederFinder reported contact information for all active SIL flocks while FlockFinder provided additional information on what traits flocks are recording but only for SIL-ACE flocks. The new smart phone version of FlockFinder reports on what traits flocks are recording for all active, performance recording SIL flocks.

In the medium term, the web-based versions of BreederFinder and FlockFinder will kept available along with the RamFinder tool that reports detailed genetic information for individual animals.
